Specialist Clinics
For the benefit of our patients the nurses have specialist clinics, brief details of which are listed below. Please ask at reception for further details and availability of appointments.
Well Person Clinic
Available to all patients, male and female, over the age of 16 for general health advice, blood pressure readings, urine tests and tetanus injections
Diabetic Clinic
Available to all diabetics for routine checks of blood sugar, blood pressure and for dietary advice etc.
Annual review clinic held twice monthly for complete screenings by nurse, doctor, chiropodist, dietician, physiotherapist and follow-up for ophthalmology
Breast Screening
A practice nurse can help you with self-examinations.
Smear Clinics
The practice provides special appointments for smears. Please check with reception. It is advisable that all women between the ages of 21 and 64 years have a smear test every three years.
Asthma Clinic
Available to all asthmatics, the prime objective of these clinics (run by our nurses and doctors) is to help the patient understand and achieve better self-management of this common complaint.
Leg Ulcer Clinic
This covers all aspects of leg ulcer management.

Elderly Screening
In accordance with government legislation we carry out screening on all of our older patients (over 75 years old). You will have a choice of coming to the surgery or the nurse calling at your home. You will be sent a letter each year informing you that your screening is due - you may decline this offer.
Family Planning Clinic
Coils and caps are fitted at the surgery by some of our doctors. Clinics are held by our practice nurses (family planning trained) which are for coil checks, the contraceptive pill and help with general enquiries regarding family planning.
Epilepsy Clinic
This clinic provides information and support for people with epilepsy and their families, monitoring care and lifestyle implications.
Minor Surgery
In addition to the doctors we have the services of a consultant surgeon Mr M. H. Edwards to perform minor operations at the surgery such as freezing of warts, removal of lumps and bumps and joint injections.
Heart Disease Clinic
At this clinic assessment will be made of your risks of developing heart disease in the future. Those with established heart disease are followed-up at regular intervals in this clinic. Practice advice will be given to help reduce those risks.
Chronic Obstructive Airways Disease Clinic
Available to all patients who suffer COPD, this clinic uses machines to monitor your lung capacity and helps the nurse with her treatment of you.
Smoking
Available to help you stop smoking.
